'Hormuz Open To All Except...': Iran President Hits Back After Trump's 48-Hour Ultimatum

As tensions escalate in the Middle East, the battle over the Strait of Hormuz continues to intensify. After US President Donald Trump's ultimatum over the opening of Hormuz, Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian has now hit back. 

In a series of posts, Trump issued a direct ultimatum over the strategic waterway, saying: "If Iran doesn't FULLY OPEN, WITHOUT THREAT, the Strait of Hormuz, within 48 HOURS… the United States of America will hit and obliterate their various POWER PLANTS, STARTING WITH THE BIGGEST ONE FIRST!"

Reacting to the US President's warning, Iran President in his X post said, "The illusion of erasing Iran from the map shows desperation against the will of a history-making nation. Threats and terror only strengthen our unity. The Strait of Hormuz is open to all except those who violate our soil. We firmly confront delirious threats on the battlefield."

In another statement earlier in the day, the Iranian military's operational command, Khatam Al-Anbiya, said, "If the United States' threats regarding Iran's power plants are carried out... the Strait of Hormuz will be completely closed, and it will not be reopened until our destroyed power plants are rebuilt."

US President Donald Trump has said Israel will not attack Iran's valuable South Pars gas field unless Tehran "unwisely decides to attack a very innocent, in this case, Qatar". The remarks came after Tehran escalated strikes on its Persian Gulf neighbours' energy facilities, hitting the world's largest gas facilities in Qatar after Israel attacked Iran's South Pars offshore liquefied natural gas (LNG) field that it shares with Doha.

The American commander-in-chief claimed that Israel acted "out of anger" over the war and acted out "violently" and that the "United States knew nothing about" the Israeli action against the Iranian Gas Field.

US KC-135 Tanker Crash Over Iraq, What It Reveals About War Transparency

Four of six crew members on the United States Air Force KC-135 aircraft that crashed in western Iraq have died, the US' Central Command said in an X post Friday afternoon. Efforts to rescue the other two are ongoing, CENTCOM said.

CENTCOM said the reasons remain "under investigation", though it ruled out hostile or friendly fire as causes. The identities of the deceased soldiers have been withheld for 24 hours after their family have been notified, CENTCOM concluded.

The US military confirmed Thursday that a KC-135 - used to refuel other aircraft mid-air - had crashed while a second (unspecified) plane involved in the incident landed safely.

Iran's new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei was injured in the strike that killed his father, Ali Khamenei, on February 28, the Iranian ambassador to Cyprus told The Guardian on Wednesday. "He was also there and he was injured in that bombardment but I haven't seen that reflected in the foreign news," Ambassador Alireza Salarian said. "I have heard that he was injured in his legs and hand and arm... I think he is in the hospital because he is injured." India Allowed Another Iran Ship To Dock Days Before US Sank IRIS Dena: Sources

A day after India said it had launched a search-and-rescue mission after a US submarine attacked an Iranian warship off the coast of Sri Lanka, government sources have revealed that India has allowed another Iranian vessel to dock in Kochi. 

IRIS Dena, a Moudge-class frigate, was torpedoed by a US submarine 40 nautical miles off Galle in southern Sri Lanka on the morning of Wednesday, March 4, while it was returning to Iran after participating in the MILAN multilateral naval exercise. The ship sank as a result of the attack and Sri Lanka said it had recovered the bodies of 87 people.
