The verdict in the gang-rape, torture and killing of an eight-year-old girl in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua, which shocked and disturbed the country, is expected to be pronounced by a special court in Pathankot shortly. Charges of rape and murder were framed against seven of eight accused in the case; one of them claimed to be a minor. The accused, if convicted, would face a minimum sentence of life imprisonment and a maximum of death penalty.
