Who Stole the Spotlight From NEET Students? Rahul Gandhi vs The Real Issue

Just days after nationwide outrage over the NEET paper leak and the tragic deaths of students, the political narrative appears to have shifted dramatically.

Instead of focusing on education reforms and accountability, Parliament witnessed a bitter war over language, personalities, and political one-upmanship. Did Rahul Gandhi's remarks end up overshadowing the very issue he wanted to raise? Has the conversation moved from students and paper leaks to political optics and ego battles?

Sansad Chaos And Street Protests: Who Is Playing Dirty On NEET?

Can the deadlock over the anti-NEET protests finally be broken?

The Centre has said it is ready for a discussion on the NEET paper leak in both Houses of Parliament. However, key questions remain over the format of the debate and whether it will be enough to end the ongoing agitation.

After Union Ministers J.P. Nadda and Jitendra Singh met him in hospital, Sonam Wangchuk laid out four key conditions for ending his fast. These include compensation for the families of students who died by suicide following the alleged NEET paper leak, assurance that no punitive action will be taken against protesters, and a meaningful parliamentary debate that includes consideration of the Education Minister's accountability.

Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi has adopted a tougher position, insisting that Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation should be the starting point of any dialogue. He has also demanded action against those responsible for alleged police excesses and an apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

With both sides setting out their positions, the central question remains: What will break the impasse—and what will it take to bring both sides to the negotiating table?
