Over 63 Lakh Covid Cases In India, 86,821 New Cases; 98,678 Total Deaths

India recorded 86,821 new coronavirus cases and 1,181 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking its COVID-19 tally past the 63-lakh mark, according to the Health Ministry data released this morning. The country now has 63,12,585 cases of coronavirus, including 9,40,705 active cases, 52.7 lakh recoveries and 98,678 deaths. At 85,376, India recorded fewer one-day recoveries than new cases. The overall recovery rate in the country is 83.5 per cent. Its daily positivity rate was 6.1 per cent and fatality rate is 1.6 per cent. A total of 14 lakh tests were done in the last 24 hours and 7.6 crore tests have been done in India till now.

Unlock 5: Cinemas Can Open With 50% Seating, States To Decide On Schools

UP के बलरामपुर में गैंगरेप, पीड़िता के हाथ-पैर तोड़ने का भी आरोप

Babri Case Verdict Today, LK Advani, MM Joshi, Uma Bharti To Skip Court

The verdict in the 28-year-old case involving the demolition of Babri Masjid, which stood at the Ram Janmabhoomi site in Ayodhya, will be pronounced today by a special court in Lucknow. The 1992 demolition -- preceded by a series of rath yatras by the BJP's LK Advani -- had cost around 3,000 lives and changed the country's political landscape. The accused in the case include senior leaders of the ruling BJP - the party's founder-members Mr Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi, former ministers Uma Bharti and Kalyan Singh. But none of the four high-profile accused will be present in court. Mr Advani, 92, and Mr Joshi, 86, are exempted from attending on health grounds. Uma Bharti has contracted coronavirus and Kalyan Singh is recuperating from it.

87 Rape Cases A Day, Crimes Against Women Up By 7%, Shows National Data

India recorded an average 87 rape cases every day in 2019 and 4,05,861 cases of crimes against women during the year -- a rise of over seven per cent from 2018 -- shows latest data released by the National Crime Records Bureau. सुशांत सिंह राजपूत मौत मामले में एम्स के मेडिकल पैनल (AIIMS Medical Penal) ने अपनी रिपोर्ट सीबीआई को सौंप दी है, सूत्रों ने एनडीटीवी को ये जानकारी दी है. डॉ सुधीर गुप्ता की अध्यक्षता वाले पैनल का गठन केंद्रीय जांच ब्यूरो के अनुरोध पर किया गया था ताकि पोस्टमार्टम और विसरा रिपोर्ट का अध्ययन किया जा सके. सूत्रों ने एनडीटीवी को बताया, "आज एक विस्तृत बैठक हुई, जिसके दौरान एम्स के डॉक्टरों के पैनल ने सीबीआई को अपने निर्णायक निष्कर्ष सौंपे." सूत्रों ने कहा है कि एम्स पैनल के निष्कर्षों को इस मामले में एक विशेषज्ञ की राय के रूप में लिया जाएगा और डॉक्टर अभियोजन पक्ष के गवाह होंगे.

Massive Fire At ONGC's Surat Plant After 3 Blasts, No Casualties Reported

A massive fire broke out at an Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) gas processing plant in Gujarat early this morning. The fire has now been brought under control, ONGC said, adding that no casualty or injury was reported in the incident. According to initial information, three consecutive blasts took place at two terminals of the Hazira-based ONGC plant in Surat at around 3:30 am. The blast was followed by a massive fire that could be seen from a distance.

It's been just over a year since Hyundai launched the new generation of the Grand i10 in the market and called it the Grand i10 Nios. At last count there were 14 variants on offer. The 15th and latest is the Turbo GDi. The Turbo GDi variant of the Grand i10 Nios is based on its Sportz trim and the only give away on the exterior is the turbo badge on the glossy black grille. It gets 2 single tone and 2 dual tone paint options. The red with black roof you see here is exclusive to the Turbo. The projector headlamps and 15 inch alloys are also standard on the Turbo, which are otherwise offered only on the dual tone Sportz trim of the car. Inside too there are some features that come as standard, like the wireless charger, a front USB charger and a leather wrapped steering wheel. Apart from that a lot of cues inside this cabin tell you that you're driving a turbo engine variant of the car. The All-black interiors with red accents all over the car add a lot of sportiness. You can find these accents around the AC vents and dials while red stitching can be seen on the steering wheel, gear lever and the seats. The engine churns out 99 bhp and a very good torque figure of 172 Nm which is available from 1500-4000 rpm. Hyundai is claiming an impressive claimed fuel efficiency figure of 20.3 kmpl on the car. There's a 5 speed manual gearbox that comes as standard and there's no automatic. In terms of safety, emergency stop signal with flashing brake lights, dual airbags, ABS with EBD and front seat belt reminders are standard. The turbo variant of the Grnad i10 Nios is priced at Rs. 7.70 lakh (ex-showroom). For the dual-tone its an additional Rs. 5000. That makes it the most affordable 'turbo' hatch in the country. The big question though is how much difference has the turbo tag made to this hatchback, Shams Naqvi tries to find out.
