When Rajnish Kumar, former Chairman of SBI, was asked whether he was surprised that 99.9% of the money actually came back to the banks after note ban was declared, he said, "That was the ingenuity of the people of India because there was a large population and people found a way of channelising their cash; money got channelised into the banking system, which is a reality."
