On Good Governance Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will transfer Rs. 18,000 crore to over nine crore farmer families under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi. He will also interact with farmers from six states during the event. This comes even as the farmers' agitation at the Delhi-Haryana border against the farm laws has entered the 30th day. In other news, the special cell of Delhi Police raided the office of advocate Mahmood Paracha who is handling multiple Delhi riots' cases. He is accused of forging an affidavit in one of the riots cases. Partho Dasgupta, the former CEO of TV ratings agency BARC, is the fifteenth person to be arrested in the case related to alleged rigging of Television Rating Points (TRP). He will be produced in court today. It's a muted Christmas this year due to the pandemic-induced lockdowns and restrictions in many parts of the world.
