When the world was hit by the novel coronavirus pandemic, lockdown turned into an opportunity for Bengaluru-based Suumit Shah. He launched a mobile application - 'My Dukaan' - that helped small and local businessmen set up digital stores. In just six months, the app has hit 4.7 million downloads with merchants from 1,600 cities. Ahead of the 2021 Union Budget, founders hope to see the centre's push for businesses to move online, especially SMBs (small and medium sized businesses) that were among the worst affected, according to them, last year.
