9 Al-Qaeda Terrorists Arrested In Multiple Raids In Kerala, Bengal: NIA

Nine Al-Qaeda terrorists were arrested this morning as multiple raids were carried out in Kerala and Bengal, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) said. The raids were conducted in West Bengal's Murshidabad and Kerala's Ernakulam. "NIA had learnt about an inter-state module of Al-Qaeda operatives at various locations in India, including West-Bengal and Kerala. The group was planning to undertake terrorist attacks at vital installations in India with an aim to kill innocent people and strike terror," an official statement by the probe agency read.

93,337 Fresh Cases, 1,247 Virus-Related Deaths In India In 24 Hours

India's COVID-19 case tally crossed the 53-lakh mark with a spike of 93,337 new cases in last 24 hours, data released by the Health Ministry this morning showed. मशहूर फिल्म पत्रकार भावना सोमैया ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी द्वारा अपनी मां को गुजराती में लिखी चिट्ठियों का अंग्रेजी में अनुवाद किया है. इस किताब को 'लेटर्स टू मदर' नाम दिया गया है. भावना सोमैया ने इस बारे में कहा, 'पहले लगा कि ये मेरे बस की बात नहीं है. फिर मैं इसे लिखती गई. अनुवाद के दौरान मैंने अपने दोस्त की भी मदद ली. बहुत बार लगा कि ये मैं क्यों कर रही हूं, इसे कोई नहीं पढ़ेगा लेकिन आज इस किताब को देखकर लगता है कि क्या ये मैंने ही किया है.'

Pakistan Violates Ceasefire Along LoC In Jammu And Kashmir's Poonch

Pakistan army continued ceasefire violations for the second consecutive day on Friday by resorting to heavy firing and mortar shelling in forward areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, officials said. Indian Army retaliated befittingly to the Pakistani aggression, they added. "At about 1630 hours today, Pakistan army initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and intense shelling with mortars along the LoC in Balakot sector," a defence spokesman said.
