'6-Fold Increase In Frequency Of Extreme Flood Events': Aaditya Thackeray

On a day the coastal state of Odisha faced a second cyclone in just four months, the Global Citizens event planned to highlight the climate emergency saw musicians and leaders from across the globe take part. Maharashtra Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray spoke at the event in Mumbai and highlighted how Mumbai and Maharashtra were fighting climate change, and how the state has suffered due to extreme weather events. Global Citizens is an advocacy organisation working to end extreme poverty. Global Citizen Live is a 24-hour event, being held over the weekend and will involve live events in major cities including Mumbai, New York, Paris, Rio De Janeiro and Sydney.
