Another protest was held on Thursday against the demolition of a temple by Karnataka government authorities in Mysuru district. The temple, near Nanjangud, had been demolished as part of a drive to clear temples from public land. Several groups had objected to this move and on Tuesday, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai halted all such demolitions. Thursday's protest near the Mysuru Palace, by the Hindu Jagrana Vedike and other groups, saw slogans being raised against the BJP government in the state.
