In a big win for the government, the Supreme Court today backed a 10 per cent quota in jobs and education for the poor or EWS (Economically Weaker Sections), introduced just before the 2019 general elections. Dalit leader Chandrashekhar Azad said he doesn't agree with a verdict pronounced by all higher caste judges on a matter that impacts the socially backward castes.
