राज्यसभा ने देश में सड़क दुर्घटनाओं में कमी लाने के मकसद से बुधवार को सड़क सुरक्षा के लिए कठोर प्रावधानों वाले मोटर यान (संशोधन) विधेयक-2019' को मंजूरी दे दी. राज्यसभा ने विधेयक को चर्चा के बाद 13 के मुकाबले 108 मतों से पारित कर दिया. विधेयक पर लाये गये विपक्षी सदस्यों के संशोधन प्रस्तावों को ध्वनिमत से खारिज कर दिया गया. यह विधेयक गत सप्ताह लोकसभा में पारित हुआ था, किंतु विधेयक में मुद्रण की कुछ मामूली त्रुटि रह जाने के कारण सरकार को उसे ठीक करने के लिए तीन संशोधन लाने पड़े. इन संशोधनों के कारण अब यह विधेयक फिर से लोकसभा में जाएगा.

2 Weeks Before Accident, Unnao Rape Survivor Wrote To Chief Justice On Threat

Over 15 days before a road accident in Uttar Pradesh's Raebareli left the Unnao rape survivor critically injured and killed two of her relatives, she had written a letter to the Chief Justice of India (CJI) claiming that they faced grave danger to their lives. Now, amid allegations that the accident was orchestrated by Kuldeep Sengar, the BJP lawmaker accused of raping the teenager in 2017, Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi has directed the court registry to submit details of the letter. "The CJI has asked the Secretary General to go through the letter written in Hindi for preparing a note of it for his perusal," an official of the Supreme Court said.

कर्नाटक के नए मुख्यमंत्री बीएस येदियुरप्पा को आज विधानसभा में बहुमत साबित करना है. जेडीएस और कांग्रेस के 17 बाग़ी विधायकों को अयोग्य क़रार दिए जाने के बाद बहुमत का आंकड़ा 105 रह गया है. अकेले बीजेपी के पास यह आंकड़ा मौजूद है, साथ ही एक निर्दलीय विधायक का भी साथ है. ऐसे में येदियुरप्पा को बहुमत साबित करने में कोई मुश्किल नहीं आएगी. वहीं कांग्रेस और JDS के पास स्पीकर समेत 100 विधायक हैं. बीजेपी ने जेडीएस को बाहर से समर्थन का ऑफ़र भी दिया है साथ ही बीजेपी ने बाग़ी विधायकों को अदालती लड़ाई में समर्थन देने की बात भी कही है. दल-बदल क़ानून के तहत अयोग्य ठहराए गए 17 बाग़ी विधायक स्पीकर के फ़ैसले के ख़िलाफ़ सुप्रीम कोर्ट में गुहार लगा सकते हैं. अयोग्य विधायक अदालत से मामले में जल्द सुनवाई की भी मांग कर सकते हैं.

The BJP in Assam lashed out at the official overseeing the National Register of Citizens, a list to weed out illegal settlers, accusing him of working for "some vested interest" on Wednesday. महालक्ष्मी एक्सप्रेस में फंसे यात्रियों को भले ही अब निकालने का काम जोरों से किया जा रहा हो लेकिन यात्रियों का आरोप है कि उन तक मदद पहुंचाने में प्रशासन ने बहुत समय लगा दिया. एक यात्री ने बताया कि बाढ़ की वजह से ट्रेन के रुकने के बाद से ही वह लगातार जीआरपी से लेकर लोकल पुलिस और दूसरे शहर की पुलिस को भी कॉल कर रहे थे लेकिन कोई भी मदद के लिए आने को तैयार नहीं था. अन्य यात्रियों के अनुसार अगर आसपास के गांव वालों ने उनकी मदद नहीं की होती तो उनकी हालत और खराब हो सकती थी. हालांकि प्रशासन अब उनकी मदद के लिए आ गई है और उन्हें निकाला जा रहा है.

A disturbing two-minute video from Uttar Pradesh's Pilibhit district shows an adult tigress being beaten to death with sticks by villagers this week.

The village is close to the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve, about 240 km from state capital Lucknow. करगिल विजय के आज 20 साल पूरे हो गए. ठीक 20 साल पहले भारतीय सेना ने पाकिस्तान सेना पर विजय हासिल की थी. इस वक्त द्रास में वॉर मेमोरियल पर शहीदों को श्रद्धांजलि दी जा रही है. जहां बड़ी संख्या में सेना के अधिकारी और शहीदों के परिजन पहुंचे हैं. आम जनता भी यहां पहुंची है और शहीदों को श्रद्धांजलि दे रही है. भारत ने 26 जुलाई 1999 को करगिल युद्ध में विजय हासिल की थी. करगिल युद्ध में भारत की जीत के बाद से हर साल 26 जुलाई को करगिल विजय दिवस मनाया जाता है. भारत और पाकिस्तान के बीच मई और जुलाई 1999 के बीच कश्मीर के करगिल जिले में सशस्त्र संघर्ष हुआ था. करगिल युद्ध लगभग 60 दिनों तक चला था और 26 जुलाई को उसका अंत हुआ. भारतीय सेना और वायुसेना ने पाकिस्तान के कब्ज़े वाली जगहों पर हमला किया था और धीरे-धीरे अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सहयोग से पाकिस्तान को सीमा पार वापिस जाने को मजबूर किया था. पाकिस्तानी घुसपैठियों के खिलाफ सेना की ओर से की गई कार्रवाई में भारतीय सेना के 527 जवान शहीद हुए तो करीब 1363 घायल हुए थे. इस लड़ाई में पाकिस्तान के करीब तीन हजार सैनिक मारे गए थे, मगर पाकिस्तान मानता है कि उसके करीब 357 सैनिक ही मारे गए थे.

Assam Floods: 75 People Killed, More Than 34 Lakh Affected

Following the death of six more people in Assam floods in a day, the death toll in the state has risen to 75. According to officials, flood waters have inundated 20 of 33 districts in the state, affecting more than 34 lakh people. Around 3,000 villages remain inundated. An alert has been issued for lower Assam since Bhutan is expected to release water from its dams due to an over-flooded river. The water will flow directly into lower Assam districts. More teams of the National Disaster Response Force have been rushed to the lower Assam region, while the army has been put on stand-by.

असम और बिहार में बाढ़ का कहर जारी, अब तक बड़े पैमाने पर हुई क्षति

असम में बाढ़ के हालात दिन पर दिन और खराब होते जा रहे हैं. शनिवार रात तक राज्य में बाढ़ से मरने वालों की संख्या 62 हो गई है. आंकड़ों के मुताबिक बीते 24 घंटे में कुल 12 लोगों ने अलग-अलग जगह बाढ़ की वजह से अपनी जान गंवाई है. हालांकि, कुछ इलाके ऐसे भी हैं जहां बाढ़ का पानी उतरने लगा है. बाढ़ से प्रभावित जिलों की संख्या घटकर 24 हो गई है. बाढ़ से समूचे राज्य में बड़े पैमाने पर क्षति हुई है. हालांकि बक्सा, होजई और माजुली जिलों से बाढ़ का पानी अब धीरे-धीरे घट रहा है लेकिन 1.51 लाख हेक्टेयर की फसल अब भी बाढ़ के पानी में डूबी हुई है और काजीरंगा राष्ट्रीय उद्यान का बड़ा हिस्सा भी बाढ़ की चपेट में है. असम राज्य आपदा प्रबंधन प्राधिकरण (एएसडीएमए) के बाढ़ संबंधी बुलेटिन के अनुसार मोरीगांव जिले में तीन लोगों, बारपेटा में तीन, दक्षिण सलमारा में दो और नलबाड़ी एवं धुबरी जिलों में एक-एक व्यक्ति की मौत होने से यह आंकड़ा बढ़कर 62 हो गया है. बिहार में भी बाढ़ की वजह से बुरे हाल हैं. अभी तक बाढ़ की वजह से पांच और लोगों की मौत हो चुकी है. अब यह आंकड़ा बढ़कर 97 हो गया है. राज्य के आपदा प्रबंधन विभाग ने यह जानकारी दी है.

उत्तरकाशी में जन्मे 216 नवजात में एक भी लड़की नहीं

उत्तरकाशी के 132 गावों में बीते तीन महीने में 216 बच्चों ने जन्म लिया है. लेकिन इसमें एक भी बच्ची नहीं है. स्वास्थ्य विभाग द्वारा जारी आंकड़ों से यह बात सामने आई. इन आकंड़ों से यह शंका होती है इस जिले में भ्रूण हत्या कितनी भल-फूल रही है. आंकड़ों के मुताबिक उत्तरकाशी के डूंडा ब्लॉक के 27 गावों में 49 बच्चे जन्में लेकिन इनमें कोई भी लड़की नहीं है. वहीं, भटवारी ब्लॉक के 27 गांव में 51 बच्चे जन्में लेकिन इनमें भी सभी लड़के ही थे, इसी तरह नौगांव के 28 गावों में 45 बच्चे जन्में लेकिन इनमें एक भी लड़की नहीं है.

भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन (इसरो) के अध्यक्ष के. सिवन ने रविवार को बताया कि आज शाम 6.43 बजे से चंद्रयान-2 की लॉन्चिंग की उल्टी गिनती शुरू हो चुकी है. इस दौरान रॉकेट और अंतरिक्ष यान प्रणाली की जांच की जाएगी और रॉकेट के इंजन को शक्ति प्रदान करने के लिए ईंधन भरा जाएगा. 22 जुलाई को दोपहर 2 बजकर 43 मिनट पर इसकी लॉन्चिंग होगी. इससे पहले चंद्रयान-2 को लेकर जीएसएलवी-एमके-3 रॉकेट 15 जुलाई को तड़के 2.51 बजे उड़ान भरने वाला था, मगर तकनीकी खराबी के कारण रॉकेट के प्रस्थान करने से एक घंटा पहले उड़ान स्थगित कर दी गई थी. वहीं, यूपी में एक सड़क हादसे में नौ लोगों की मौत हो गई. पुलिस के अनुसार हादसे में जान गवाने वाले सभी लोग एक शादी से लौट रहे थे.

सोनभद्र में हिंसा पीड़ितों से मिलने के लिए जाते वक़्त हिरासत में ली गईं कांग्रेस महासचिव प्रियंका गांधी की रात चुनार गेस्ट हाउस में ही गुजरी. इस दौरान कमिश्नर, एडीजी और आला प्रशासनिक अधिकारियों ने दो बार प्रियंका से बात कर उन्हें मनाने की कोशिश की लेकिन प्रियंका नहीं मानी. प्रियंका ने कहा कि वो पीड़ितों से मिले बिना नहीं लौटेंगी. प्रियंका इस बात के लिए भी तैयार थी कि अगर पीड़ित परिवार को यहां लाकर मिलवा दिया जाए तो भी वो तैयार हैं लेकिन प्रशासन इस पर भी तैयार नहीं था. इधर, प्रशासन की ओर से चुनार गेस्ट हाउस में बिजली का भी इंतजाम नहीं कराया गया था. प्रियंका काफी देर बिना बिजली के ही बाहर बैठकर कार्यकर्ताओं से बात करती रहीं. बाद में कुछ कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ताओं ने जेनरेटर का इंतजाम किया.
